ACORN SQUASH

Very simple, and quite delicious. I serve as a side with turkey.

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Wash squash and cut in half lengthwise. Slice a small piece off of the back of squash so that it will sit level with cut side up. Place squash in a casserole dish cut side down and fill pan with water.

Bake squash for 30 minutes.

Melt butter and stir in cinnamon and nutmeg, blending until mixed well.

After 30 minutes, turn squash over cut side up. Prick all over with a fork and divide the butter mixture among the 4 halves. Sprinkle with salt. Return to oven and bake another 30-45 minutes or until tender when pierced with a paring knife.

Serve warm with honey pot on table for people to sweeten if they like.
